The COVID-19 pandemic has been a worldwide struggle among individuals that has affected the way in which humanity has conducted our day to day lives. Whether its the routine trip to the grocery store, going out to dinner, or going out for a day of shopping, the rules and regulations for these basic routines has changed drastically following social distancing protocols and mask mandates. Obviously we've seen how these practices have affected our everyday lives, but along with these changes have come the development of safety guidelines for national and international travel.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention provides individuals with suggestions to make travel safer. The first thing you can do when travelling anywhere during the pandemic is to check the current COVID-19 situation at your desired location. The CDC provides individuals with a map that can help you determine the risk level of travelling to a specific location. Another suggestion that is made by the CDC for tourists and travelers is to follow all travel restrictions including wearing a mask, proof of vaccination, testing, or quarantine requirements.
Although there are many preventative measures that can be implemented for COVID-19, you should not continue with travel if you have been exposed to COVID-19, tested positive, are sick, or awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test. By following these protocols, individuals can better protect themselves, as well as others from contracting and spreading the COVID-19 virus.
