Web Biography Proposal

For my web biography proposal assignment, I would like to interview, a Slippery Rock University alumni, Craig Cowan. Cowan has faced trials and tribulations throughout his life, but has worked to overcome them to build the life he has today. Cowan graduated from Slippery Rock University with a degree in Geology. After not being able to find a job that interested him and coming up short finding employment that wasn't just boring excavation jobs, Cowan was determined to find a way to carry out and apply his love for Geology in a way that appealed to him.

After a significant amount of time passed without finding a intriguing form of employment, Cowan decided to develop his own company called The Barefoot Forge. The Barefoot Forge is a collective blacksmithing group, where individuals can shop for pre-made rings and items, as well as sign up for classes and forge their very own pieces!

I would love to interview Cowan and one of his friends or colleagues, and learn more about the ways in which he overcame this challenge that many college graduates face, which is uncertainty. Often times individuals are unhappy with their jobs and don't find them interesting or motivational. To speak with someone who has overcome this challenge and started a business for themselves will be a light of hope for students unable to find a job that captivates and interests them. I think Cowan will have a lot of insights into ways students can entrepreneur and set themselves up for a bright future that appeals to them.
