As a result of the pandemic, quarantine has taken a huge toll on many individuals mental health. One way I've seen some of my friends and others cope with these circumstances is by spending time with their pets. Pets have always served as companions and friends, but many have recognized the unconditional love that pets provide during these hard times. Pets are an amazing support system and an even better cuddle buddy. Here's a few clips of my friends and their quarantine raised pets!
My roommate, Haley D'Amico, entertains her cat Lucy and turns our apartments kitchen into a home workout center for our extremely energetic kitty. Over quarantine, Lucy also improved her tin foil soccer ball skills!
Lucy tries to help my roommate, Emily Miller, with her statistics notes, but proves to be more of a cute distraction than a magical math wizard.
My friend, Jake Trone, gives me a piece of papaya to feed to his guinea pig, Louis, for a sweet snack! Louis usually eats hay as his main course, so the papaya was a rewarding treat.
Bruno, a boxer that belongs to my friend, Steven Carr, looks out the window for furry friends and an opportunity to play with the neighbors. Even though we couldn't go to the neighbors, we brought the fun inside!
Slippery Rock University student, Jake Trone, discusses the benefits of having a pet during quarantine and the emotional benefit they can provide.
At the end of the day, even though we can't live our day to day lives exactly how we want to, our loveable pets have provided a great way to keep us sane during these troublesome times.
