Hey guys! How's life treating you today?

Welcome to my blog! My name is Anna Simon, and I am a student at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania. I am a junior integrated marketing and communication major. This blog is part of the content for my New Media and Journalism class, where I will be learning more about the new age of technology and digital media in journalism. Although this class is a requirement for my major, I am excited to see how my writing as a journalist will grow!

Often times when thinking of a traditional and reliable source to do research and collect information, I typically think of The New York Times . I often use this source to conduct research for school projects and I think it is a very professional, trustworthy and respectable news source. When it comes to completely digital media, I often turn to outlets like The Atlantic, as many of my professors have used journalism from this source in our college courses. I think it is very reliable and has been made accessible and convenient through their smartphone app.

I think we've heard enough about school, so let me tell you a little bit about myself! I live in a small apartment just outside of campus, but when I'm not living there, I live about an hour away from campus in Allison Park.

In my spare time, you can often find me decorating, listening to music, and hanging out with my roommates. Some of my favorite artists include Rico Nasty, Kodak Black, Megan Thee Stallion, Polo G, and many other artists.

Along with my studies, I work at a local daycare in Butler, Pennsylvania called Ali's Little Hands Learning Center. I work as an aide in the preschool room, where I work with kids typically between the ages of three to five.

I chose the name of this blog to be "Simon Says" because ironically enough my last name is Simon and I will be having lots to say and many posts to come on this blog this semester!
